Understanding the Swimlane View

Booking views in TJ Ops

The Bookings Module supports two views for managing bookings:

  • Tables View
  • Swimlanes View

By default, the Bookings Module opens in the Table View, where bookings are grouped under high-level tabs such as Requested, Approved, In Progress, Ended, and All.

The Swimlanes View provides a more granular view of bookings by displaying additional  sub-statuses within each booking status. These sub-statuses may vary depending on your organisation’s custom booking workflow. The Swimlanes View also allows Ops users to update booking statuses visually.

To switch to the Swimlanes View, navigate to the Bookings Module and click the Swimlanes button next to Table View.

How Swimlanes work

In the Swimlanes View, each booking appears in a lane that represents its current sub-status

  • A new booking request first appears in the Placed lane.
  • Under the Approved status, bookings can be moved between sub-statuses such as  Not Qualified, Qualified and Contract Signed.
  • When the customer signs the contract, the booking moves from  Qualified to Contract Signed.

Bookings can be moved between swimlanes by dragging and dropping or by clicking a booking card to open available status-change actions.

Important behaviour to note

Bookings can only be moved within the same Ops status.

For example:

  • A booking under the Approved status can be moved between Not Qualified, Qualified and Contract Signed.
  • A booking that has moved to In Progress cannot be dragged back to Contract Signed, as In Progress is a different Ops status and moving backward would be logically invalid.
